Who we are

The Global REIT Alliance was formed in 2006 under the banner of REESA: the Real Estate Equity Securitization Alliance.

It launched under its new name in September 2025.

Mission

The Mission of the Global REIT Alliance is to shape and promote opportunities for investing in securitized real estate worldwide.

These assets cover all four quadrants of investing: public, private, equity and debt.

Objectives

The Global REIT Alliance pursues six objectives:

  • raise global awareness - enhance global awareness about the benefits of securitized real estate and promote modern REIT investment markets;

  • forge a global network - provide opportunities for REIT champions to actively share advocacy strategies, intelligence on market trends, investor outreach programs and industry IP;

  • influence public policy - help inform global policymakers about modern REIT policy frameworks;

  • guide standards setting - assist governments and industry craft fit-for-purpose voluntary standards and benchmarks relevant to the REIT industry and its interaction with the broader economy and society;

  • lead on sustainable investment - support industry initiatives to improve environmental stewardship, social responsibility and good governance in an ethical investment landscape; and,

  • encourage an informed marketplace - collaborate with stakeholders to generate and share high-quality data about the REIT marketplace, trends, industry practices and performance.

Founding members
